September 3rd, 2014 by Simplify Solutions
Google have just released the ability to customise themes on Google Forms. This long-awaited feature is great for individuals and organisations that want to personalise brand the look and feel of their forms. The header and background image and colour can be customised, along with the fonts, colours and alignment of form text.
Here is an overview of how to get started with customising your forms.
Step 1: Create your Google Form.
Step 2: Click the Change theme button at the top of the form. The Change theme panel will open on the right.

Step 3: Click a theme to select it as a starting point.
Tip: Pick a theme that has the look and feel closest to what you want to create. This will make it quicker to customise.
Step 4: Click the Customise button beneath the theme.

Step 5: Click on each section to expand it and see the customisation options.

Step 6: Customise each section to suit your needs. All your changes are saved automatically.
Here is a summary of what you can change:
| Header image | Change or remove the image displayed in the header of the form. |
| Title | Change the font face, colour, size and alignment of the text. It can also be made bold. |
| Description | Change the font face, colour, size and alignment of the text. |
| Question | Change the font face, colour and size. |
| Help text | Change the font face, colour and size. |
| Options (ie. answer options) | Change the font face, colour and size. |
| Form background | Change the background and border colour of the actual form. |
| Page background | Add, change or remove a background image and adjust its alignment. You can also choose just to have a background colour. |
Step 7. When you have finished customising your form, click the Edit questions button at the top of the form to continue building questions.
Note: You can also copy a theme from an existing form. This is useful if you have previously created a great theme in another form that you want to re-use. Just click the Choose form button at the top of the Change theme panel and select the form you want to copy the theme from.
